KING ISLAND PLANNING SCHEME 1995
AMENDMENTS 08/05
The Resource Planning and Development Commission have approved draft Amendment No 08/05 (as modified by the Commission) to the King Island Planning Scheme 1995 to be operational as of the 22nd August, 2006 being -
To amend "The Ordinance" and "The Map" as follows -
1) Amend the 'Noise Attenuation Boundary' surrounding the Huxley hill Wind Farm and insert a new 'Potential Impact Area' on the Planning Scheme Map as shown on the attached plan.
2) Remove the 'Noise Attenuation Boundary' from the area identified as Mary Hill.
3) Replace Clause 5.17 of the planning scheme with the following:
a) To protect the operation of the Hydro Electric Commission power station outside Currie, a 500m noise attenuation buffer has been shown, within which new residential development shall be prohibited.
An Attenuation Ara for Huxley Hill Wind farm has also been identified and within which any new residential development shall be prohibited. Potential impact areas have also been shown within which residential development shall be discretionary. Such a development shall be approved in circumstances where the application is accompanied by a report from a suitably qualified noise consultant, which demonstrates that there will be no adverse impact upon the residential amenity of the occupants from the wind Farm.
The amendment applies to the local government area of King Island. The Amendment will be on exhibition at the Council offices located at the corner of Meech and George Streets, Currie and may be viewed by interested parties during normal business hours.

The Resource Planning and Development Commission have approved draft Amendment No 05/05 (as modified by the Commission) to the King Island Planning Scheme 1995 to be operational as of the 8th August, 2006 being -
To amend "The Ordinance" as follows -
1. Insert a new sub-clause at Clause 3.10.3 following 'Table of Uses and Developments - Rural Zone, subclause (a)' as follows:
"b) Notwithstanding the Table of Uses and Developments - Rural Zone, Forestry as defined below, is prohibited.
i) Forestry - Means any land used for the intentional planting, propagation and harvesting of trees for commercial gain and includes intensive tree farming and plantation forestry.
The amendment applies to the local government area of King Island. The Amendment will be on exhibition at the Council offices located at the corner of Meech and George Streets, Currie and may be viewed by interested parties during normal business hours.

To amend 'The Map' as follows:-
Amendment 04/05
To amend King Island Planning Scheme 1995 map by rezoning all the land (CT 136554/1) located at Millwood Road, Naracoopa from 'Rural' to 'Low-Density Residential B'
The amendment only applies to that specified within the local government area of King Island. The Amendment will be on exhibition at the Council offices located at the corner of Meech and George Streets, Currie and may be viewed by interested parties during normal business hours.
