Youth Development

Our Aims
  • To be a contact for young people who are needing information on any issue affecting them.
  • To develop ways in which young people on King Island may be consulted with about things that affect them.
  • To work with businesses, government organisations, community groups and individuals to involve them in ways to improve the lives of young people. 
  • To help young people on King Island to participate in programs and activities which improve their social, mental and physical health.
How Can We Help?

If you:

  • are worried about a problem you need help in solving.
  • want to know who to talk to about a certain issue to do with your health, education or job.
  • don't know who to turn to in a difficult time.
  • want to get involved in a sporting or community group.
  • want to volunteer in something.
  • have a great idea and don't know where to start.

K I Tennis Association

Saturdays Competition tennis is run from the last Saturday in October until Easter the following year. Comp is open to males and females of all ages and abilities and is played from 12pm onwards.

Social Tennis is run from 6-8pm during daylight savings on Wednesday nights. Cost is around $3 and is open to all ages and abilities.

Junior Coaching is available on Wednesday afternoons from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. Gary Strickland runs the group sessions free of charge, and there are opportunities throughout the year for young players to participate in tournaments and special coaching, both on and off the island.
