South East Trail

Activities

Allow a day to visit Grassy, a town with a strong history of scheelite mining.

Visit the mine monument, to enjoy a spectacular view over the disused Grassy open-cut mine.

Visit Kelp Craft in the township for original items made from bull kelp.

View penguins and shearwaters on a night time visit to Grassy Harbour.

Grazing
  • On the Grassy Road, look out for roadside fruit and vegetables. Frogshack Nursery and Lymwood Larder have produce available in season. Lymwood Larder's speciality is blueberries.
  • Marie's Cornerstore in Grassy is a convenience store with a small cafe, famous for homemade pies, pasties and meals to eat in or takeaway. They also carry Grassy Gourmet icecream, something 'to die for'.
  • Local produce and speciality octopus: Book ahead for lunch or dinner King's Cuisine at the Bold Head Brasserie, in Grassy.
