Take a whole day to visit the area around Naracoopa, on the east coast.

Visit Sea Elephant estuary, a wetland of international importance, then join the local families and try for a fish off the Naracoopa jetty.

Abalone Art is just around the corner as you head to the jetty, open Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm. Other times by Appointment

An alternative route to Naracoopa is via Fraser Road (gravel): Allow time to visit King Island Alpacas, 411 Fraser Road, open by appointment: Mon - Fri 2.30pm to 5.30pm, Weekends 10.30am to 5.30pm. Phone 64621555 or 0428 621054 to arrange a time to visit. Just a short drive from Currie and you will be able to interact with these inquisitive animals. Tea & Coffee available or bring your lunch for a BBQ on the deck overlooking the farm. Alpaca garments & yarns for sale

  • You are advised to book ahead for dinner at Rocky Glen Retreat with its superb view of the much loved Naracoopa jetty.
  • Bert's Café on Naracoopa Esplanade is open on weekends during the day, except winter months.
  • Baudins Restaurant is open for evening bookings only.
  • There is an electric barbeque at the picnic shelter on the Naracoopa foreshore, take $1 coins.
